Yorkshire Grammar School Tests
Yorkshire's six grammars do not share a single test. The two Skipton schools (Ermysted's and Skipton Girls') coordinate CEM-style testing; Calderdale and Kirklees schools use FSCE papers; Ripon runs a GL-based assessment. Registration is per school.

How to prepare
- Register with each school individually — there is no Yorkshire-wide application.
- FSCE schools (Crossley Heath, Heckmondwike) include a Creative Writing element — practise timed writing as well as reasoning.
- The Skipton schools' CEM-style format mixes question types within papers — untimed practice is less useful; rehearse switching topics quickly.
- Ripon's GL-based test emphasises verbal skills, comprehension, spelling and grammar.
- Distances matter at several of these schools — check each catchment/priority policy.
